Monthly Checkup

We went for our monthly checkup last Sat.

Was planning to consult doc on the various issues like :
  1. Am I still having UTI (Urinary Track Infections) ?
  2. Result of Triple Test ?
  3. My weight ?
  4. Feotal movement
  5. Travelling by plane

Let me explain the first one. What is UTI ?

UTI is actually the presence of bacteria found in the urine, which if it is not treated, it will lead to kidney problems which will lead to premature birth. Naturally, I was worried when the hospital called me 2 weeks ago to ask me to come to the hospital. I asked the nurse what was wrong. Was it something wrong with my blood test a.k.a Triple Test ? She said no, it was the urine test. The pathology lab found traces of bacteria in it. So, I asked her - is it serious ? She put me to talk to Dr. BK Tan. So, doc assured me that it is not so serious but I still need to take some antibiotic. I went to the hospital 2 days later to get the antibiotic. I opted not to see the doc as doc said it is not critical and I can choose to see him according to my scheduled appointment.

So, after 1 week of taking the antibiotics, and another week of waiting, I went for my monthly checkup last Sat. This time doc even told me how to "catch" the urine sample, and truth betold - my urine test was fine. All I need to do is just to wipe it clean, release the first stream of urine (and beware not to let the urine touches the side of the vagina as this is where all the bacteria stays) and catch it. Hehehehe.... So glad that it was because of my worng technique.

Result of Triple Test

Triple test was actually a blood test. They called it Triple because it includes a test to check the percentage of the baby having Down Syndrome. Doc told me that this test is a must in other countries but in Malaysia, the government does not enforce it. But now, most of private hospital encourage their patients to do this test. I did a check on the Internet as well and found that even goevernment hospitals in countries like UK made this test a compulsory test.

And the result came out is NEGATIVE. Meaning to say, the chances of my baby having down syndrom is 1 in every 50,000 babies. Which is small. So, now I don't have to worry about my baby having Down Syndrome. God's blessing is certainly upon us.

My Weight

This is also another issue that I am afraid. The last check-up I have gained 3 kg and now the recent check up, I have gained another 3 kg. All in all, from the first check to the fourth checkup, I have gained a total of 8kg. Scary or not ? Doc said it is a little higher than the normal 2 kg, which I should gain in a month. I am still within the normal range - 8 to 12 kg for the whole of 9 months. Um, what should I do ? Can't go on diet. Jus have to make sure I eat healthy food, exercise a bit (which is something I did not do at all) and stay out of junk food. I must also try and eat small bits but frequent, rather than eating all the time. I hope this time I can manage to stay within the average rate.

Feotal Movement

I mentioned to doc that I am still unable to recognize any feotal movement. Sometimes it made me kinda scared not feeling any movement. Is my baby alive or what ? So, last Sat, I asked the Doc to show me the feotal movement. And my God, the feeling of watching the baby arm raised up, flexing his tiny fingers was indeed a joy to look at. And it is a marvelous feeling having watched the tiny one moving in your stomach and to learn it is slowly growing. My baby at this moment doesnt move a lot. He only raised up is arms once a while, flexing his fingers or gripping it. How I wish I can have this kind of monitor at home so that I can watch to my heart's content the movement of my baby. Hehehehehe....

Travelling By Plane

I will be going back to Sabah this Thurs, together with syg. So, need to get doc's consent whether I am ok to fly or not. Doc said is ok. I am only 21 weeks. is only when I am 28 weeks and above that I shouldnt be travelling at all.

So, all in all, I am healthy, my syg is healthy and my baby is healthy. Thanks be to God.

Muahhh ....

Petrol Price Down By 15 Sen

That was the recent announcement by PM.

15 sen reduction - which means I still need to spend RM64 just to fill up my tank full. A reduction of RM6 from the previous price.

Now, not that I am complaining. I welcomed any move that eases our burden as daily consumers.

What amuses me was I thought, and read and re-affirm by the one speaking that new price for petrol will only be announced on the 31st Aug. He said he will not announce any earlier just to garner votes for the upcoming by-election. Fine, its your call, I believe.

Then, the very niext day - he announced in the paper that the petrol price will go down by 15 sen effective 22 Aug, 10 days earlier that what we are expecting. And reason gave for this was because to lower our burden.

Looks like a flip-flop to me. Sikijap 1, sikijap jadi 2. Macam biskut Chipsmore, "Now you see, now you don't."

I Was Tagged !

Tag .... What is that ?

I thought when someone tagged me, all I need to do is just to add him/her. And that was what I did when Awa tagged me.

Awa was having a laugh of her life when she realized that all I did was just to add her link to my page. Then, she kindly explained to me how this tagging works. Actually, all I need was just to refer to her page posting on TAG and simply answer all the questions that she had on that post. Sort of like chain mail or something like that.

So, here I am now, trying to answer the questions .....

I Will Sue You For Giving Suggestions

Well, that seems to be the norm thing to do in the world today.

You get people suing other people because they simply dislike the suggestion made by that person. No, first, they start off with road demonstration - to demonstrate how much they dislike the suggestion. Next, they call for an apology over that suggestion. If one refuses to apologized, then they will sue the person.

Never had I attended any meeting that one person is suing another person just because they do not agree with the suggestion. A suggestion still remains a suggestion until it is accepted by the majority and is carried out. So, why are people making such a big fuss and some more want to demand apology or else, be prepared to receive a court letter.

I should have taken up a lawyer profession long time ago. If I could foresee the future, I am sure I will be filthy rich just handling these kind of cases - one suing another just because they don't agree with that suggestion.

What is becoming of the world today ?

Malaysia Recieved Its First Medal In The Olympic

Lee Chong Wei against Lin Dan. World No 2 against World No 1.

That was the highlight of last night's match. And sad to say, our Chong Wei lost to Lin Dan. He must have felt an immersed pressure playing against Lin Dan with all the Chinese supporters around. Even I myself was having a nervous time watching the game and my heart was beating so fast.

I dun wanna comment on the game. He reached finals after a 12 years drought and brought home a medal for Malaysia. His game improved a lot and I was amazed watching him playing against Lee Hyunil. It will definately be hard playing against Lin Dan and on China ground. All I can say is - "Well done, Chong Wei. You did the best you could ! "

Microcontroller Based Designing

That was the course that I had for the entire last week.

Well, basically it gives a basic and general overview on what is Electric, what is Electronic and Microcontroller.

Though it is only a basic course, but for me, sometimes it is this small detail that is lacking and is much needed in order to go deeper of the subject.

A very fruitful course indeed, but due to lack of time, we didnt get to do some hands-on on interfacing with the microcontroller.

Becham Wannabe or Ian Thorpe Wannabe ?

Okie. So both of them doesn't refer to me. I can neither kick a ball to its target nor swim like a frog.

So, what is this post all about ? Actually, it is about my baby ... Yup, about my baby again ... Kekekeke... As days goes by, is kinda hard not to notice this little fella, nesting snugly in my stomach. Why ? Because my stomach is getting bigger, that's why. I used to be able to see my two feet plus my knees, nowI am only seeing half of it, and my view of the knee is a little bit obstructed by my stomach.

Not a very nice pic, huh ?

Anyway, people had already started asking me whether I am able to feel the movements of my baby yet. And I always seem to reply "No, not yet." I started feeling rather despair when I couldnt feel the movements, but doc assured me that it is normal for first time mummy-to-be. But still I try and try to search for the movements and have complained endlessly to syg about this until syg had to pacify me and said "Be patiet. You'll feel it. Dun worry."

This past few days I actually felt the baby was moving. First time was on Sun night, while I was lying down on the bed reading. Then subsequently, the following night, I felt it again. It feels like bubbles coming out or bubbles forming when we are hungry. And the baby is active especially if I happened to lie down on the bed. But when I sleep at night, I usually sleep through the night. Which is good coz I loved to sleep. Hehehehehe...

I am sure he is actively moving inside, kicking here and there (my stomach was quite painful last night - he must have scored a few goals) or swimming here and there. Syg once felt the baby moving, way earlier that me, and he was thinking why and how on earth that I able to move my stomach that way.

Funny huh how the little one is growing ....

I am sure every mother is savoring this moment, just like me....

Baby Names

I am in the middle of compiling a baby name book. And even thought of few names (actually only one boy's name at the moment, since the doc said it is gonna be a boy) but I didnt realize it will be this hard to find.

Probably because I am looking for a name that has a biblical meaning, rhymes well with daddy's name, easy to call upon, and so many other criterias... A name is forever, you know, so must choose very carefully. Just like I remembered my dad told me how he decided on my name - after much deliberation and weighing the good and bad.

So, at the time being, I decided to call my baby - 'Baby'. Syg said must not simply call names coz we havent decide the name. I said, 'OK...'

My darling baby ..... Muaahhhhh .....

The New Way Democracy

We have read in the paper that Tun Rafidah is passing the baton over to her deputy, Datuk Seri Shahrizat in the year 2009. Therefore, she had appealed to all Wanita members not to contest for the top two posts so that they can win unoppossed. This is to ensure the unity of the members remains strong.

Reason that I post this up was - I used to be active in societies where we have president, vice president, secretary, treasurer and so on and so forth. Never had anyone taught me before that the post of president can be passed over to the deputy unless the president decides to quit out of his/her personal reasons. That also does not mean that the deputy will be promoted automatically. What was the norm was the deputy will temporary hold the position until the next soonest election.

So, does this mean that there will be another election after Tun Rafidah quits ? It somehow wasnt projected that way in the paper. I could be mistaken. But if it is true on what was reported in the paper, then isn't it a mocking to democracy that we had 'upheld' all these times ? Why wanna contest when you decided to quit before the term is over ? Shouldn't the people elect who they want as their chief ?

Doesn't make any sense at all. Nothing ever does nowadays...

Ex-DPM Making A Comeback

Most newspapers, including foreign newspaper are talking about ex-DPM making a comeback.

And he will be contesting in the place that his wife has vacated just for him - Permatang Pauh. It was a loving gesture from his wife to make way for him. The wife has said it numerous times, even at the start when she contested in 1999 and won the seat. She has made it known from the beginning that she is there temporarily and will surrender it back to the husband. So, why other people are saying that she betrayed the trust of the people who voted for her ?

I dunno about politics, and frankly, I don't give a damn. I said there are too much 'politic-making' nowadays that I actually got fed up reading the main stream media. I dunno what to believe anymore now. It doesnt seem to make any sense anymore. I am finding that adults (especially those with power and authorities) seldom said what they mean.

Now, I just wanna concentrate on my work and at the same time, enjoying this special moment with my two babies - one big and one small. Hehehe....

MRR Cracks Again ?

Yup, it seems that this is the 3rd time - which definately scares the hell out of the motorists who were passing by at that time.

70 million was spent to assess and repair - and yet it still cracks .... One does wonder why these things are still happening.

Though I would not like to think of bad things, but how many time do the government need to 'pay' to rectify the problem ? Oops, I forgot, it is still under warranty (or so claimed by the authorities) till the end of this year. What about next year ?

Will be repair works sustain over a period of 15 to 20 years ?

I dare not imagine what will happen - I can only hope that it does sustain so that tax payer's money will be well spent in other areas.

Celebating Janice's Birthday

My niece - Janice, was born on 3rd August 2001. Yup, she is 7 years old already now... Couldn't believe how fast time flies.

My cousins invited all of us for a dinner to celebrate her birthday. So, we went all the way to Kepong to try out this restaurant that they enjoyed so much.

Kinda far, but the food was superb ! I enjoyed every single dish they have ordered. But what I enjoyed most was looking at my two nieces' facial expression. They truly light up my world and I wished my baby will be as cute and lovely as them. Though 'lovely' may not seem to be the right word now since the doc says I am carrying a boy in my stomach. Hehehehe....

But nevertheless, the kids are such a joy to be with thought both Janice and Rachel are as different as day and night.

Love the both of them !
