A Prayer for Baby Alden
A message from GIFT member:
Dear All,
One of our former GIFT members (batch 1997-2001) needs our help. Let us all pray for Marilyn John Sibatu's family. Her 5 month old son, Alden Joey Laison was admitted to ICU last Wednesday [22nd March 2009]. He had serious episodes of seizures and after further testing, the doctors found out that there are some bleeding in his brain. His condition is very serious as this can lead to severe brain damage.We (Joyce Siambun & I) went to visit baby Alden at Hospital Likas this afternoon and how our heart breaks looking at him lying on the bed with all those tubes and machines attached to his 5 months old body. He had tears at the corner of his eyes. According to Marilyn, baby Alden is unable to open his eyes since he was admitted because his eyes are bleeding too. Marilyn keeps talking to him, comforting him and telling him that mommy's friends came to visit.Please pass this on to everyone who knows her and let us all pray for the recovery of poor baby Alden. May God bless their family.

Jesus our redeemer and healer, we offer baby Alden into Your mighty, powerful and loving hands. Please have mercy on this poor little child, have mercy on this baby who has not opened his eyes to the sins of this world. We pray Lord heal this baby from all his sicknesses, pain and suffering. You Lord have gone through suffering, pain and humiliation for our salvation
so You surely know what this baby is going through.
We believe nothing is impossible for You as You have the power to heal and give life. We know how You healed the blind man, we know how You brought a dead man to live again, we know that You have turned water to wine, and above all, we know for sure that You care and love this baby and so we pray.
ord touch this baby boy, Alden, and heal him in Your mighty name, Jesus, which is above all names. We claim healing and full recovery for this baby by Your precious blood. Heal him Lord
as You have said by the stripes on Your body we are healed. We now pray for healing for this baby.
Jesus, we also offer Marilyn and her family into Your hands. We know Lord, as much as the suffering the baby is going through, the mother Marilyn is also going through the same suffering and pain emotionaly. She is sad, terrified and in despair. We ask you Lord to give Marilyn and also her family strength and peace to go thorugh this moment. We believe Lord and we strongly believe that there is something better coming ahead for them, something more joyful coming ahead for them and that this is only a temporary trial, a test of faith.
Dearest mother Mary, please pray for this baby and the family.
All the saints and angels in heaven pray for this baby and family, and be with them, giving them comfort and calm assurance

International Conference on Recent Advances in Space Technology
Yippie... I will be going to Istanbul, Turkey this coming 9 - 15 June 2009 to present a paper entitled "Setting-Up The Assembly, Integration and Test Centre in Malaysia".
I managed to get my paper accepted for presentation in a IEEE jurnal. At least, I fulfilled some of my obligations as a research officer (The government wants all Q officers to present paper in any local/international conferences).
I am excited but how is Daniel gonna fare with mummy gone for almost a week ? I wish I bring Daniel along...

Incomplete Renewal of Baptism (cont.)
And I forgot to mentioned that the Priest skip the 3rd responserial psalm and went straight for the prayer.
I felt so bad when the cantor had practiced so hard for the entire week.
He waited for the 1st and 2nd cantor to come to the pulpit but he did not wait for the 3rd one.
And I didn't ask him why he had forgotten about the 3rd psalm. Probably in my heart, I was too tired to listen to another of his excuses.
Life ! Just made me realize, no one is perfect. So, we should all accept each other's fault and wrongdoings. Priests should be the first to show examplary examples to us.

Incomplete Renewal of Baptism
Yeah, that was my experience on Easter Vigil. Apparently, the Priest forgot to sprinkle the entire community with the newly blessed holy water.
Ironically, he said, "I am sorry, it was my fault, BUT if the commentator has reminded me about it, I would not have forgotten."
And the Priest would not even have mentioned about that incident had I not asked him. He was more concern about why one of the English hymm was sung without any music to it.
Prior to the start of the mass, I noticed the altar has been decorated (which is a no-no, coz the altar will only be decorated after the 3rd / 7th reading) and when I approached him that night, his answer was "To save time." I was astounded to hear his answer and couldn't say anything. After all, he is the kind that doesn't like people to question his ways. And because of that, one of the parishioners (which is very dear to me, and the backbone of the church) was upset and refuse to talk to the Priest. I can understand her feelings as she spend her entire afternoon trying to coordinate the decoration of the altar, the ringing of the bell and others.
The next morn when the Priest called me, he told me that it was the sacristian's fault as the Priest only wanted to have the small piece of white cloth on the altar, not the entire white cloth that was meant for decoration. And he further said that when I asked him about the altar, only then he realized what the sacristian had done and he said it was too late to do anything as mass was about to begin in 5 mins.
Now, why is it 2 version of answers from the same man ? And I don't agree when he said it was too late to rectify the error. He still has 5 mins, what is so hard to go up to the altar and remove the cloth ? Yeah, the church was filled but it shouldn't hinder one to go and rectify the error rather that just to leave it erroneous all the way!
And now, the Priest wants me to be his middleman, to tell the parishioner whom he had hurt, that it was the sacristian's fault. The priest's concern was no one will continue doing the parishioner's task in the church.
I am reluctant to do as he said and repeatedly mentioned to the Priest that he is the one who should talk to the parishioner. His reply was "What am I suppose to do if she didnt want to talk to me yesterday?" And I told the Priest, "There is still tomorrow, and tomorrow, and tomorrow."
What is going on in the church now ? Why is the Priest making excuses and putting the blame on others ?

"They Do Not Do What They Preach"
I am very disturbed with things going on right now. Even more disturbing coz it happens in the church itself, with the church people, with the priest himself.
Jesus taught us - "Love one another as I have loved you".
How can a man of God claim a lay woman is evil just because this lay woman does not agree to all he said? How can a man of God says I am concorting with evil just because I chooses to listen to my own heart, to vote for one whom my heart is saying, and that happens to be person whom the man of God had difficulty working with?
How can a man of God prayed for unity, prayed not to hold grudges, prayed to love another, prayed to work together but does not do what he himself preaches?
There are a lot of questions playing in my head, and today begins not in a very nice way after being reprimanded for choosing someone that "he" does not approve.
oh God, is this what you are calling me for ? You put me to do Your will, to serve Your people here, but yet, I am being told off that I am supporting the evils. Lord, You alone knows best. I am here not to seek man's approval, but Your approval. I listened to my heart, for I believe You spoke to me through my heart.
Let it be done according to Your will and not mine, nor anyone else's will.
I have no intention to disobey You, but I am afraid that a man of God understands otherwise. He seems to find that if I do not follow his order, that is an act of defy on me. Oh God, open up his heart to see goodness in others, not to be blinded by his rage over a particular person that clouded up his judgement.
This is seriously affecting me, and I have contemplate to resign from my post as Head of Liturgical. Should I or should I not ?

F1 - Australia Circuit
The new season of F1 has started in Australia last week.
And BrawnGP, emerged from the highly controversial Honda team stole the limelight. Both the drivers came in 1st and 2nd, thus making BrawnGP the new favourites. BrawnGP, a name that derives from Ross Brawn, a highly intelligent man I would say in the F1 business. This was the same guy who help Ferrari and Michael Shumacher to win 7x.
Ferrari seems to be struggling - with their car pace, wrong strategy, KERs. And this seems to be the first time that I saw no points for Ferrari, be it drivers championship or constructor championship. They need to buck up fast, to catch BrawnGP.
I will still support Ferrari. Go go Ferrari !

New PM For Malaysia
Many of us has asked for a change in the leadership. Finally, it has happenned. Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak was sworn in as the 6th Prime Minister of Malaysia today (3rd April 2009), after having won the UMNO presidency unopposed on Saturday. Go to The Star for more news...
Former PM - Abdullah Ahmad Badawi was conferred the title 'Tun', which I guess is a normal practice for all outgoing PM.
Former PM's Wife - Was also conferred the title 'Tun', though I think (and prefer) if it was the late wife of our former PM who was conferred the title coz she has given lots more to Malaysia (in fact up to her dying breath). But then again, who I am to say otherwise ?
Lets us all join in our hands and pray that the new leadership will steer us through and away the storm.
p/s: Tun Mahathir was there at the palace as well, apparently.
