Business

My business had started last month - my brooch and bracelets business. It was nice earning additional money as cost of living is getting higher. I don't think I can afford buying a new car now, as it would mean additional burden. As of now, I hardly able to save. Bulk of my money goes to paying the house loan, household expenses (bills, etc), petrol and for my own usage. Thank God I finished paying off the car loan last year and PTPTN loan this year. Thanks to syg coz he gave me the additional money to settle the loan.

So, I'll like to announce here - Anyone interested in buying brooch and bracelets for themselves, or wanting to be a distributor, just give me a call anytime. Details can always be discussed until it is mutually agreed. For a glimpse of what I am selling - go to http://broochnbracelets.blogspot.com/

Is Marriage Just A Piece Of Paper Or Is It Still A Sacred Vow Between Two Person ?

Well, the reason I asked this question was I came across some pictures on FB. Disturbing pictures, I would say. I may not be extremely close to this relative of mine, but we are family after all. And I kinda recall his lovely wife, and they have been married for quite some time. In fact, the eldest child must be around 10 years or so.

But I saw that the lady in the photo was slightly different. And I began to wonder, did my memory failed me ? Was this how the wife looks like, coz she doesnt seem any older than me, where else the gap between me and this relative of mine is 10 years. Somehow or rather, I assumed the wife should look more matured (not kiddo look). So I try and search for other photos and my suspicions came true. The intimate photo that I saw earlier differs from the wife that I remembered.

Is marriage this fragile ? 10 years of marriage could go down in drain if one is not careful. And I think the one that suffers most will be the children. Oh why is this happening ?Why happen to the vow "I'll always love you in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health... "

Oh God, I asked for your grace, to enable me to love my syg more and more each day, to hold sacred our marriage vows together, and to build our family life on top of You, for You alone, is our Strength and Joy. Amen.

Malachi 3:3

Malachi 3:3 says: "He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver."

This verse puzzled some women in a Bible study and they wondered what this statement meant about the character and nature of God. One of the women offered to find out the process of refining silver and get back to the group at their next Bible Study.

That week, the woman called a silversmith and made an appointment to watch him at work. She didn't mention anything about the reason for her interest beyond her curiosity about the process of refining silver. As she watched the silversmith, he held a piece of silver over the fire and let it heat up. He explained that in refining silver, one needed to hold the silver in the middle of the fire where the flames were hottest as to burn away all the impurities. The woman thought about God holding us in such a hot spot; then she thought again about the verse that says: "He sits as a refiner and purifier of silver." She asked the silversmith if it was true that he had to sit there in front of the fire the whole time the silver was being refined.

The man answered that yes, he not only had to sit there holding the silver, but he had to keep his eyes on the silver the entire time it was in the fire. If the silver was left a moment too long in the flames, it would be destroyed. The woman was silent for a moment. Then she asked the silversmith, "How do you know when the silver is fully refined?"

He smiled at her and answered, "Oh, that's easy -- when I see my image in it"

If today you are feeling the heat of the fire, remember that God has his eye on you and will keep watching you until He sees His image in you.

Attitude Is What That Shape Us

There once was a woman who woke up one morning, looked in the mirror, and noticed she had only three strands of hair on her head.Well,' she said, 'I think I'll braid my hair today?' So she did and she had a wonderful day.

The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and saw that she had only two strands of hair on her head. 'H-M-M,' she said, 'I think I'll part my hair down the middle today?' So she did and she had a grand day.

The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and noticed that she had only one strand of hair on her head. 'Well,' she said, 'today I'm going to wear my hair in a pony tail.' So she did and she had a fun, fun day.

The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and noticed that there wasn't a single strand of hair on her head. 'YEAH!' she exclaimed, 'I don't have to fix my hair today!'

Attitude is everything. Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle. Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass . . . It's about learning to dance in the rain!!!

Give Me Some Time

The greatest gift you can give to someone is your time,
Because when you are giving someone your time,
You are giving them a portion of your life, which you will never get it back.

Life Lessons

  1. You cannot make someone love you. All you can do is be someone who can be loved. The rest is up to them.
  2. No matter how much I care some people just don't care back.
  3. Just because someone doesn't love you the way you want them to doesn't mean they don't love you with all they have.
  4. It takes years to build up trust, and only seconds to destroy it.
  5. It's not what you have in your life, but whom you have in your life that counts.
  6. Our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are, but we are responsible for who we become.
  7. We are responsible for what we do, no matter how we feel.
  8. Either you control your attitude or it controls you.
  9. Sometimes when I'm angry I have the right to be angry, but that doesn't give me the right to be cruel.
  10. Maturity has more to do with what types of experiences you've had and what you've learned from them and less to do with how many birthdays you’ve celebrated.

Life is like a rope that swings us through hope,
Always believe that today is much better than yesterday,
And tomorrow will certainly be better than today.

Life gives us answers in THREE WAYS:
  • It says YES and gives whatever we want;
  • It says NO and gives us something better;
  • It says WAIT and gives us the best
Wishing you have all the answers that you are seeking for.

Tip To Be A Good Researcher - Learning From Your Mistakes

There is this story about a famous research scientist who had made several very important medical breakthroughs. He was being interviewed by a newspaper reporter who asked him why he thought he was able to be so much more creative than the average person. What set him so far apart from others?

He responded that, in his opinion, it all came from an experience with his mother that occurred when he was about two years old. He had been trying to remove a bottle of milk from the refrigerator when he lost his grip on the slippery bottle and it fell, spilling its contents all over the kitchen floor - a veritable sea of milk!

When his mother came into the kitchen, instead of yelling at him, giving him a lecture, or punishing him, she said, "Robert, what a great and wonderful mess you have made! I have rarely seen such a huge puddle of milk. Well, the damage has already been done. Would you like to get down and play in the milk for a few minutes before we clean it up?"

Indeed, he did. After a few minutes, his mother said, "You know, Robert, whenever you make a mess like this, eventually you have to clean it up and restore everything to its proper order. So, how would you like to do that? We could use a sponge, a towel, or a mop. Which do you prefer?"

He chose the sponge and together they cleaned up the spilled milk.

His mother then said, "You know, what we have here is a failed experiment in how to effectively carry a big milk bottle with two tiny hands. Let's go out in the back yard and fill the bottle with water and see if you can discover a way to carry it without dropping it."

The little boy learned that if he grasped the bottle at the top near the lip with both hands, he could carry it without dropping it. This renowned scientist then remarked that it was at that moment that he knew he didn't need to be afraid to make mistakes. Instead, he learned that mistakes were just opportunities for learning something new, which is, after all, what scientific experiments are all about. Even if the experiment "doesn't work," we usually learn something valuable from it.

Wouldn't it be great if all parents would respond the way Robert's mother responded to him?Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could all respond to people who we manage in a similar manner too? Help someone learn from his / her mistakes?

Ways To Relieve Stress

A lecturer, when explaining stress management to an audience, raised a glass of water and asked, "How heavy is this glass of water?" Answers called out ranged from 20g to 500g. The lecturer replied, "The absolute weight doesn’t matter. It depends on how long you try to hold it."

"If I hold it for a minute, that’s not a problem If I hold it for an hour, I’ll have an ache in my right arm. If I hold it for a day, you’ll have to call an ambulance. In each case, it’s the same weight, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes."

He continued, "And that’s the way it is with stress management. If we carry our burdens all the time, sooner or later, as the burden becomes increasingly heavy, we won’t be able to carry on. As with the glass of water, you have to put it down for a while and rest before holding it again. When we’re refreshed, we can carry on with the burden. So, before you return home tonight, put the burden of work down. Don’t carry it home. You can pick it up tomorrow. Whatever burdens you’re carrying now, let them down for a moment if you can."

"Relax; pick them up later after you’ve rested. Life is short Enjoy it!"

And then he shared some ways of dealing with the burdens of life:
  1. Accept that some days you’re the pigeon, and some days you’re the statue.
  2. Always keep your words soft and sweet, just in case you have to eat them.
  3. Always read stuff that will make you look good if you die in the middle of it.
  4. Drive carefully. It’s not only cars that can be recalled by their maker.
  5. If you can’t be kind, at least have the decency to be vague.
  6. If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.
  7. It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.
  8. Never buy a car you can’t push.
  9. Never put both feet in your mouth at the same time, because then you won’t have a leg to stand on.
  10. Nobody cares if you can’t dance well. Just get up and dance.
  11. Since it’s the early worm that gets eaten by the bird, sleep late.
  12. The second mouse gets the cheese.
  13. When everything’s coming your way, you’re in the wrong lane.
  14. Birthdays are good for you. The more you have, the longer you live.
  15. You may be only one person in the world, but you may also be the world to one person.
  16. Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once.
  17. We could learn a lot from crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull. Some have weird names, and all are different colours, but they all have to live in the same box.
  18. A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour.

Who Will Take My Son ?

A wealthy man and his son loved to collect rare works of art. They had everything in their collection, from Picasso to Raphael. They would often sit together and admire the great works of art..

When the Vietnam conflict broke out, the son went to war. He was very courageous and died in battle while rescuing another soldier.. The father was notified and grieved deeply for his only son.

About a month later, just before Christmas, there was a knock at the door. A young man stood at the door with a large package in his hands...

He said, 'Sir, you don't know me, but I am the soldier for whom your son gave his life. He saved many lives that day, and he was carrying me to safety when a bullet struck him in the heart and he died instantly... He often talked about you, and your love for art.' The young man held out this package. 'I know this isn't much. I'm not really a great artist, but I think your son would have wanted you to have this.'
The father opened the package. It was a portrait of his son, painted by the young man. He stared in awe at the way the soldier had captured the personality of his son in the painting. The father was so drawn to the eyes that his own eyes welled up with tears. He thanked the young man and offered to pay him for the picture.. 'Oh, no sir, I could never repay what your son did for me. It's a gift.'

The father hung the portrait over his mantle. Every time visitors came to his home he took them to see the portrait of his son before he showed them any of the other great works he had collected.

The man died a few months later. There was to be a great auction of his paintings. Many influential people gathered, excited over seeing the great paintings and having an opportunity to purchase one for their collection. On the platform sat the painting of the son. The auctioneer pounded his gavel.. 'We will start the bidding with this picture of the son. Who will bid for this picture?'

There was silence...

Then a voice in the back of the room shouted, 'We want to see the famous paintings. Skip this one.'

But the auctioneer persisted. 'Will somebody bid for this painting? Who will start the bidding? $100, $200?'

Another voice angrily. 'We didn't come to see this painting. We came to see the Van Gogh's, the Rembrandts. Get on with the real bids!'

But still the auctioneer continued. 'The son! The son! Who'll take the son?'

Finally, a voice came from the very back of the room. It was the longtime gardener of the man and his son. 'I'll give $10 for the painting...' Being a poor man, it was all he could afford.

'We have $10, who will bid $20?'

'Give it to him for $10. Let's see the masters.'

The crowd was becoming angry. They didn't want the picture of the son. They wanted the more worthy investments for their collections. The auctioneer pounded the gavel.. 'Going once, twice, SOLD for $10!'

A man sitting on the second row shouted, 'Now let's get on with the collection!'

The auctioneer laid down his gavel. 'I'm sorry, the auction is over.'

'What about the paintings?'
'I am sorry. When I was called to conduct this auction, I was told of a secret stipulation in the will... I was not allowed to reveal that stipulation until this time. Only the painting of the son would be auctioned. Whoever bought that painting would inherit the entire estate, including the paintings.. '

The man who took the son gets everything!'

God gave His son 2,000 years ago to die on the cross. Much like the auctioneer, His message today is: 'The son, the son, who'll take the son?' Because, you see, whoever takes the Son gets everything.

FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, WHOSOEVER BELIEVETH IN HIM, SHALL HAVE ETERNAL LIFE...THAT' S THE KIND OF LOVE GOD GAVE US, THROUGH HIS ONE AND ONLY SON - JESUS CHRIST.
