Though I have heard about it for awhile, but to really see that it is happening to Daniel is a brand new experience for me.
I have been to 3 paeditrician at 3 different clinics. The 1st one gave me Atarax to suppress the histamine that causes rashes on the body but couldnt find out the cause or the allergen.
The 2nd doc asked me to avoid food like berries, legumes, fish, white egg, egg yolk, seafood and nuts as these food can cause skin allergy on babies. She further gave me Zytrex to suppress the histamine, as well as changing body bath to a non-soap type. Sad to say, Daniel's rashes never went off at all. But his rashes were more like dots of red on the body.
It was until we finished the medicine and decided to see for a day or two his condition without medicine, then only the real prob came up. 1st day without medicine, his body started developing red patches. By second day, we bought a new type of milk, same brand that he took when he was 1 month old but that didn't help. His fae started to swell a bit and by night time, he started to develop high fever and both his eyes are swollen. Not to mention he was scratching his face coz it was so itchy. Brought him to the 24 hours clinic (coz it was midnight), doc gave him medicine to relieve fever and itchiness temporarily.
By morn, fever was still high and on/off. And that was on Mon, 2nd day of Raya. So I brought him to SMC to see his paeditrician. And while on the way, I tried to recall when the rashes really started. By the time I reached, I made a conclusion on my own - it was due to the cow's milk.
When his doc came by, I related to him what had happened, how many docs I have seen, what medicine Daniel had taken, etc... I also told him about my suspicion on cow's milk. The doc then asked me to try switching to soy milk and see what happen. Atarax and Zytrex is only temp solution as we still need to find out what causes the allergy.
Now, it has been 4 days without the medicine, adn Daniel no longer develop those kind of big red patches. He may still occasionally have red dots here and there, but I firmly believe we have finally found the root cause of his skin allergy - Cows' Milk Allergy.
As I am still breastfeeding him, food which contain milk are stuff I need to avoid for now. Maybe its time to think of stopping to breastfeed him. But I still loves to breastfeed him, so I am in a dilemma at the moment. Let just see after my trip from US.

Odoi kesian nya.
Memang x silap lah yang ko cakap tu cow milk is a source of alergies.
I think since dia kena alergy that is a very good reason for you to continue to breasfeed your child.
The articles by Anne Smiths are very comprehensive on breasfeeding and how it helps avoid allergies etc.
