Daniel's First Celebration of CNY

Taken at Ipoh on the first day of Chinese New Year 2011. On Daniel's right hand side was his second cousin, Rachel Woo. On his left hand side was his great-grandmother (my paternal grandmother)

Next, we went to the graveyard, to pay respect to my maternal grand-mother, who when was alive nicknamed Daniel as "Tai Ngau" (a.k.a Big Cow)

Two families were there, my mum's and my aunt's. The photographer was syg (which explained why he wasn't in the picture)

Pantai Tanjung Aru - Mei 2010

This is a long awaited post. Remember we went back to Sabah in May 2010 ? So, the entire family (10 of us adults, excluding children) packed up in 2 small cars and drive down to Tanjung Aru beach. This is Daniel's first time to the beach. So, most of the pictures are all about Daniel, Audrey and Erwin... I didn't had the time to post these pictures up as Daniel got infected with the RotaVirus. So, here are they - playing happily together. And this is what family is all about...

Children - they grew up so fast, kan ? The last time Daniel was just a baby, learning how to walk, now he is running and we had do catch him. I wishes he wont grew up that fast .... Wanna enjoy his innocence for a little longer.

Melaka - Here I Come

It has been so many years since my last visit to Melaka. Let me see, I think the last time I visited Melaka was in 1996. And that does not include the Heritage Town. I have never been into the Heritage before, in my whole life. Talk about "jakun". Here is one real-life jakun.

So, tonight, we are leaving for Melaka town. Syg got a course there tomorrow morn, so we thought of accompanying him down (actually, it is more like we wanna go there, hehehhee). Got a room at the Baba House Melaka.

So, let see what we plan to do:
  • Eating Chicken Rice Ball and Satay Celup
  • Drinking Cendoi
  • Visiting Jonker Street, especially during night time (that's why we chose tonight to drive down, so that we can take a walk at Jonker Street)
  • Visiting the ruins, fort, ship, and all other historical building
  • And more eating, and eating, of course....
I am sure we'll have lots of fun - me, mummy and LaiYenn, together with Daniel. Poor syg got to attend course. Never mind, next week, we'll go Cameron Highlands pulak. I guess I'll save that for later.
Till then, chao guys !

Is Marriage Just A Piece Of Paper Or Is It Still A Sacred Vow Between Two Person ?

Well, the reason I asked this question was I came across some pictures on FB. Disturbing pictures, I would say. I may not be extremely close to this relative of mine, but we are family after all. And I kinda recall his lovely wife, and they have been married for quite some time. In fact, the eldest child must be around 10 years or so.

But I saw that the lady in the photo was slightly different. And I began to wonder, did my memory failed me ? Was this how the wife looks like, coz she doesnt seem any older than me, where else the gap between me and this relative of mine is 10 years. Somehow or rather, I assumed the wife should look more matured (not kiddo look). So I try and search for other photos and my suspicions came true. The intimate photo that I saw earlier differs from the wife that I remembered.

Is marriage this fragile ? 10 years of marriage could go down in drain if one is not careful. And I think the one that suffers most will be the children. Oh why is this happening ?Why happen to the vow "I'll always love you in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health... "

Oh God, I asked for your grace, to enable me to love my syg more and more each day, to hold sacred our marriage vows together, and to build our family life on top of You, for You alone, is our Strength and Joy. Amen.

Lee See Oi (1930 - 2010)

My grandmother passed away on 11 January 2010. Short of 1 month and 12 days to her 80'th birthday.

Initially, she fell and broke her hip bone and right leg as well as sprained her right arm. Then she was hospitalized for11 days, awaiting for operation, which was suppose to be done on the 11th.

Her diabetes level was very high during hospitalization, which was why the Doc did not do any operation on her. We went back on 9 and 10 Jan coz she wanted to see Daniel so much.

She passed away within half an hour in the operation theatre. I guessed, being such an age, her heart couldnt sustain it. She died of severe pulmonary embolism.

I guessed in a way, she is much better off now. She don't have to suffer the pain anymore.
May she rest in peace, together with Our Lord, Jesus Christ.
Amen.

Car Broke Down !

Just imagine on jam-packed Sunday afternoon, cars are basically bumper-to-bumper scenario, your car's cluth suddenly failed you and you are stuck, right in the middle of the 3 lanes !

Scary ?

Yup, that was what happened to me last Sunday ! The clutch suddenly gave some scary sound, and poops, it went dead. I was unable to engage into any gear at all, thus had to leave the car's hazard lights on immediately. I was thankful that no car came and honk me, or worse, bang me from behind as it was very jam that day.

Having 4 ladies in the car makes it even more difficult to move the car away to the emergency lane though I know that should be the thing to do while awaiting for two truck to arrive. Unless I was not pregnant, I could probably do that. But since I am pregnant, I decided to sit in the car (in the middle lane) while awaiting for some kind hearted stranger to assists us.

God was kind to us, He gave us 2 angels to help us pushed the car to the emergency lane. God bless these to Malay samaritans. Finally, we are out of danger. So, we waited patiently for the truck to come Meanwhile, made some changes to the plan whereby asked my mum and sis to take a cab to Mid Valley and later we (me and syg) will come and pick them up at Mid Valley.

So, now everything went according to plan B. Truck came and mum took a cab, me followed back to service centre, and there, upon seeing the familiar Kembara parked by the road side, and my syg waiting for me, you got to imagine the amount of relief that I felt at that time. Syg came immediately from church meeting (which I escaped coz need to bring Mum to Mid Valley to get new pinafore for my youngest sis). I was so thankful to God for keeping all of us safe from any harm.

Talked to Mr Teoh about the incident and was rather sad that should the worse case scenario happen (have to change the entire clutch pad), the cost will be around RM500. And that was excluding the towing service, which amounted to RM150. Well, things happened and nothing much can be done about it. After all, there is a need to spend this money - is for our safety after all.

Then , I made a prayer - I actually did. I asked God to have mercy on us, coz money is certainly very tight for us now. Whats more with the baby coming and the purchase of the house. God does listen to our prayers. A thorough check on the car revealed that only the clutch cable and some minor repairs need to be done. So, all in all, I spent RM185 for it.

Thank you God - for listening to our prayer, for keeping us safe from harm.

I love you, Jesus !

Grande Mode

Congratulations on the soft opening of Grande Mode Boutique, located at 33-1, Jalan 1/4, Bandar Puteri, 47100 Puchong.

For those who are unsure of the place, it is actually located at one of the shophouses situated next to Giant Puchong.

I was there yesterday for the soft opening with Ek, mum and Lai Yee, and I must admit the dresses there to tempt me ALOT ! If not for my "bulging stomach" and "thin wallet", I am sure there are a lot of dress, blouse, skirts that I can consider. Even the shoes are exceptionally one of a kind. Not to mention discounts availbility ... Good for bargain hunters. Fit for a queen yet affordable - that is Grande Mode.

So, in the end, I ended up buying a dress (that I can wear even if I am 5 months pregnant later) and a pair of beige color sandal for upcoming wedding functions.

Here are some of the pictures shocasing Grande Mode:

Grande Mode is located at 1st level

Many types of dresses , blouses available for your pick. Price is affordable to, not exceeding RM200. Short dresses cost less than RM150. Some even at less than RM100.

This whole set (excluding shoes) cost about RM80 only. My sis bought one whole set of this.

Some new fashion displayed

Enchanting evening gown

Some of the bags and shoes on display. Perfect fit for those who are looking for dresses to attend functions.

The atmosphere is so cosy and comfortable

Big mirror for the customers, and not forgetting a sofa set that looks so comfy that my niece jumped on it and continue her "beauty sleep". Also for meant for husband's, boyfriends or guy friends to have a sit and wait for their wives, girlfriends to parade in front of them. Kekekeke...

And tada .... The owner of Grande Mode. On your right, ladies and gentlemen, please give a BIG HAND for Jacky Woo.

Maybe next time I should let you guys see what I have purchased from Grande Mode. But was too tired last night to take a good shot at the dress. Maybe later folks. Till then, I shall keep you updated if there is any new items available for sale.

Jacky can be contacted at 016-5548684 or 012-5918663.

Tada .....

MAS - Flight Delay

Went back to Sabah last Thursday and came back last night... What a tiring journey. On Thursday, our flight at 1410 was cancelled and changed to 1500. Then, when we board the plane at 1500, there were some problem and the plane couldn't take off. Disembarked from the plane at 1600 and wait for the next plane at 1700. Luckily they gave us meal voucher to redeem at either Burger King or Asian Delights. So, we choosed Burger King. The queue was so long that by the time we got our meal, it is time for boarding, again !

What to do... We took our burger and fries to the plane. By the time we finish, we were so full that we can hardly take another bite of MAS food. And our trip was futher disturbed by these bunch of tourists, who were making so much noice on the plane. Like they have never been on a plane before..

Finally landed in KKIA at 2000. What a tiring journey. But at least I got one whole Fri to rest. Sat is my first journey to Kota Belud (KB). Why ? Coz Lora and Itol is celebrating their wedding there. I must say KB has a very nice view - full of paddy fields, with Mount Kinabalu at the back of the scenary. It is indeed charming.

Here are some of Itol and Lora's wedding photos :

Weekend At Tanjung Malim

A weekend gathering for family members...

Went up to Tanjung Malim to Obot's house. What was the occasion? Well, it is Fredelex one month's old. And since we have not seen the baby yet, its high time that we go. After all, a weekend in Tanjung Malim will definately be the most relaxing one.

The baby boy is cute, and bore a little resemblence to his elder bro, Frederick. While Frederick is blessed with huge round eyes, Fredelex has rather tiny eyes. But he does do a lot of "stretch-up" a.k.a "mengeliat"... Hehehe, it's cute.

As usual, we had B.B.Q the whole day. Stuff myself till I can walk no more. Hehehe... Went to bed in the afternoon only to wake up 2 hours later and continue eating. God must be having fits with me. Lent season and here I am, gorging up myself with food. Well, they said, dun waste food.

Sunday was an outing day for us. Obot brought us to this place that has a mini waterfall. When I said mini, it wasn't even 1m high. Who cares, water is cold and refreshing ....

Can't wait to have another outing. Outing to anywhere with my hubby will be wonderful. :)
