Official Email Account Anybody ?

Came across a (funny) news article published in TheStar online today:

Official email account for each Malaysian adult

Initiative is to allow direct and secure communication between the public and the Government

PUTRAJAYA: All Malaysians who are 18 years old and above will be assigned an email account each in order to receive statements, bills and notices from the Government.
The initiative would allow direct and secure communication between the public and the Government, said Tricubes Bhd chief executive officer Khairun Zainal Mokhtar.
Tricubes Bhd is the company developing the 1Malaysia Email project in collaboration with Microsoft.
Khairun said Tricubes Bhd would also spearhead the development of a web portal which would include social networking services, online bill checking and payments.
"Currently, the company is still running stress test for the portal.
"Hopefully, we can get it ready by July this year," he told a press conference at the fifth progress update of the Economic Transformation Programme in here, Tuesday.

So, now we'll be receiving emails from SYABAS, TENAGA, MBSA, etc... is it ? What kind of statements, bills and notices we are talking about here?

Seriously In Need Of A Break

Which means, I want to go on a holiday ! Out of the country, preferably. Syg, if you are reading this, can we go somewhere, please ?

I long to see the St Peter Square again, I long to go Eifel Tower, I long to watch Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding of the century live from Westminister Abbey.

I wanna bring Daniel to go Disneyland, I wanna go shopping in US where branded jeans and bags and others are so much more cheaper than Malaysia.

I just wanna go somewhere, elsewhere, anywhere - with my flight ticket, accomodation and meal allowances sponsored. Can or not ?

AX.25

What the heck is this ?

Well, for those who are in the communication business, you'll know that this is the protocol for amateur radio communication.

Now, how does it end up that a computer science background student (like me) have to deal and understand with this ? It beats me... And I am still struggling to trying to understand this. If there is anyone of you out there who can shed a bit of light on this, I am very much honoured and happy.

Keeping The Bibles Holy, Just As Keeping Ourselves Holy

The recent spat about stamping the Holy Bibles or Alkitab with serial numbers (as though the holy scriptures are criminal men and women) and the wordings "For Christian only " (which is confusing, as though people wouldn't know that Bibles are meant for Christians until they need to see the sentence) and also "By The Order Of The Minister" (wa, now man can dictate Bible is it ? ) is very disturbing and I personally and strongly reject this kind of injustice call.

"There is no compulsion in religion" - is a phrase I remembered very clearly from a friend of mine who converted to Islam.

The 10-points resolution proposed by the Government is indeed a step forward to solving this problem. My question is - how permanent is that step ? And why must it be a bias act between Penisular and Sabah Sarawak ? Why can the bibles in Sabah Sarawak not stamped but for those that will be circulating in Penisular, it must be stamped ? Are we implying that the people in Peninsular does not know the national language very well ?

I sincerely hope that in spirit of 1Malaysia, everyone will be allowed the same courtesy to worship in their respective religion. And the holy books of any religion should just be kept holy, and not desecrated in any way as it is disrespecful.

And let us try to be holy men and women as well, and "DO UNTO OTHERS AS WE WOULD LIKE OTHERS TO DO UNTO US".

Political Change in Sarawak?

Many of you knows what had happened in Sarawak during the state's general election. While many (especially our political leaders) had hoped that they win BIG TIME in Sarawak, seeing that it is one of their safe deposit, it turned out far cry than what was expected.

The Chinese obviously proved them wrong by voting DAP. And the Ibans also had a few words to say. Many seems to be very unhappy with the current Chief Minister, who, by the way, had rule Sarawak for 30 years. Even I think it's high time that someone else, a fresh new face, be appointed to lead the state. I can't be sure that he has not done any good to the state, but staying in power for so long, there are bound to be questioning here and there.

Initially, I thought BN will win big time in Sarawak, and that will pave way for the next general election. Looks like there is gonna be more work to win back the people's trust before doing anything.

"Rakyat Didahulukan, Pencapaian Diutamakan"

Time to see the first one being implemented in a more fruitful and forceful way.

Holy Week Is Just Around The Corner

Can't believe it that we are almost towards the end of Lent season, and beginning of the Holy Week. Speaking of Lent season, tomorrow there will be Way of The Cross in GKF, followed by mass. Hope we'll be there on time, though I doubt it very much that we can actually reach there before the start of Way of the Cross. Its usually before the start of mass (or end of Way of the Cross) that we finally arrived.

Don't forget to go for your penitential service. Happy fasting, people and GOD bless!

1 New Year Resolution Not Fulfilled

You must be wondering which resolution that I had failed to keep. Its blogging! I made a resolution to blog at least 12 times a month, and I just realized that the whole of March passed by without a single entry. You must be dissapointed with me, yeah ? I know, coz I am too....  *sob**sob*

Anyway, I am glad to post this entry, though we are already half way in April. There are lots of things that I wanna talk about, blog about, but .......  (this time, I am even too lazy to type out the excuses)

So, I am back ! I am alive ... (or so I'll like to be now, as I am caughing my lungs out)
