Spain - Circuit of Catalunya

Kimi won the race, with Massa second and Hamilton third.
Grand prix in Spain saw the Ferraris dominating the race - Kimi and Massa. An eventful race, I would say. Safety car was deployed twice in that race. First, involving Adrian Sutil and Sebastian Vettel on Lap 1. Second safety car was deployed when Heikki Kovaleinan went full head off the track at high speed and knock himself unconsious. More news can be found on Planet-F1, GPUpdate.net, Formula 1 Official Website and many others.

Hekki being lifted out from the wrecked car

Ferrari is now leading both Drivers and Constructors championship. Kimi is leading the rest with 29 points and his next contender, Hamilton, has 20 points. Ferrari has 49 points to lead BMW Sauber and McLaren Mercedes.

So, there is a reason to smile and to celebrate this week - Ferrari won, they are leading the championship. Yahoooooo !

The Story of a Cracked Pot

A water bearer in China had two large pots, each hung on the ends of a pole which he carried across his neck. One of the pots had a crack in it, while the other pot was perfect and alwaysdelivered a full portion of water. At the end of the long walk from the stream to the House, the cracked pot arrived only half full. For a full two years this went on daily, with the bearer delivering only one and a half pots full of water to his house. Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments, perfect for which it was made. But the poor cracked pot wasashamed of it's own imperfection. And miserable that it was able to accomplish only half of what it had been made to do.

After two years of what it perceived to be a bitter failure, it spoke to the water bearer one day by the stream. "I am ashamed of myself, and I want to apologize to you. I have been able todeliver only half my load because this crack in my side causeswater to leak out all the way back to your house. Because of myflaws, you have to do all of this work, and you don't get full value from your efforts," the pot said.

The bearer said to the pot, "Did you notice that there were flowers only on your side of the path, but not on the other pot's side? That's because I have always known about your flaw. So Iplanted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we walk back, you've watered them. For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate the table. Without you being just the way you are, there would not be this beauty to grace the house?

Moral: Each of us has our own unique flaws. We're all cracked pots. But it's the cracks and flaws we each have that make our lives together so very interesting and rewarding. You've just got to take each person for what they are, and look for the good in them. Blessed are the flexible, for they shall not be bent out of shape. Remember to appreciate all the different people in your life.

Now I believe that it is a gentle reminder to me. No one is perfect. I should accept people just the way they are, but sometimes this is sooooo difficult. I came across people who are biased, judgemental, sour-face, angry-pot and many more. And I will be wondering, why these people act the way they are now, but who knows - that is how people look at me also.

Bottom line - "Do unto others as you would like others to do unto you."

My Favourite Author Of All Times...

Judith McNaught (And Ek will always pronounce as Judy McNaughty) .... She is my favourite author and I have read all her books - Perfect, Once and Always, A Kingdom of Dreams, Double Standards, etc... She has the knack to you feel sad, happy, anxious, grinning all at the same time... What I like most is the way she potrayed the heroin in the book - courageous, witty, smart, outspoken, and most important of all, she never gives up on her dream. I wanna have these kind of traits in me ...

I went Midvalley last Sat and decided to indulged myself with another 2 more of her collections (Whitney My Love and Simple Gifts). One I have read and another one was something I meant to get long time ago (but no money during study time, expensive leh ... one book cost RM 34.90 oh) and finally I got it..

Just got it ... Still wrapped up nicely and sitting on my book shelf, waiting for me to devour the book... Kekekeke..

Meanwhile, I decided to read again (and again, and again .... ) Perfect. I just loved the book. Also just wanna build up the mood and anticipation to read the two new books. With the two new books, I have now in my collection - Paradise, Tender Triumph, Perfect, Until You, Every Breath You Take, Whitney My Love and Simple Gifts. Yippie!!!!

Can't wait till next month to collect Once and Always, A Kingdom of Dreams, Double Standards, Night Whispers, Almost Heaven, Something Wonderful, Remember When, Someone To Watch Over Me... Banyak buku lagi la pulak, looks like I need to span it out in few months ... :(

I Want This ....

Christian Dior - Flight Makeup Palette

I saw this on MAS's shopping catalogue when I was on my flight to UK, Italy and France last year. I fell in love with it but I didnt buy since I have one makeup palette which I seldom use. Ek will be having fits if I buy coz I dont put on makeup often.
But now since I gave my sis that makeup palette, so there is no reason not to buy. Furthermore, I am putting on makeup now, albeit not heavy makeup, but hey, its still makeup ... Mo lawa-lawa ma...
I went to Midvalley last weekend, trying to look for this at Dior counter, unfortunately, they do not have it anymore... So dissapointed.. But will continue looking for this, or until I come across a nicer one ... Kekekeke ....

Spreading Lies Even After You Have Left

Who else but my ex-boss ? Though she has officially out of the company, there are still some lies (which I heard from a 3rd party) that she is telling to others...

The latest one was my colleagues asked me, "Did she confront you about you writing the letter?"

I said, "No. The only time that I ever approached her to talk to her was after our presentation which she rejected me, saying she got no time. After that, I never saw her again even though she was in the office twice, let alone talk to her. Why?"

They answered, "She told someone in HQ that she confronted the person, whose husband is also a government servant, whether she wrote the letter or not and that person told her no."

As far as my office here is concerned, I am the only one whose husband is also a civil servant.

So, what is she trying to do now ? Smear my name in front of other people, imposing her own conclusion unto others, making it looks as though it is real ? How many more accusations do I need to take ? It makes me wary of how other staff is looking at me now, especially those from other campuses.

I DID NOT WRITE THAT D**N F***ING LETTER, K! PERIOD!

That night itself, I had a nightmare. I dreamed that she came up behind me, asking me to go out, and want to ask me something. What a nightmare !

The truth shall prevail. God knows the best. He alone knows of things, burdens - of how much I can handle. It will be a long journey, I know but as long as God is with me, I can do all things.

I hope one day, I will be able to forgive and forget her and her apprentices. Forgive maybe, forget never...

F1 - Bahrain Circuit

Yup, 3rd grand prix was held yesterday, at the circuit of Bahrain and nope, I did not watch it at all. Why ? No astro lor... And dunno why nowadays main tv doesnt wanna broadcast the show already. Last time we used to have 8tv faithfully broadcasting the show live. Sad ... Sad....

Anyway, it doesnt stop me to wait for the results anxiously. I browsed on the internet (at mummy's place) to know that Robert Kubica has snatched the pole and Felipe Massa and Kimi Raikkonen will be starting from P2 and P4 respectively. I somehow knew that either one of the Ferrari will win the race and true to my delight - Massa won and Raikonnen came in 2nd.

So now, it is Kimi leading the Drivers' championship and BMW leading the Constructor's championship (Ferrari will take over, I know it). What a fantastic weekend for Ferrari ... Way to go !

Lewis Hamilton did not gain any points - which made me glad since I dont like him at all...

Kimi, Felipe and Robert on the podium

Last Day..(Updated)

Updated Post - 11 April 2008:

And this is our last posing on that day - all of us minus the two apprentices, who decided not to join in nor contribute to the gift and makan-makan that we organized. Not that we didnt invite but decision is up to them. Probably coz we didnt do the same for her beloved boss, but hey, how to do if the boss doesnt even wanna see you ? Takkan la ambil ayam ganti kot (like in the Chinese movie where they substitute the groom/bride who isnt there with the chicken so that the wedding can go on)?

All the best Faizal ...

New Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation

Datuk Dr. Maximus Johnity Ongkili - The new Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, replacing Datuk Seri Dr. Jamaluddin Jarjis. He came to our workplace as part of his "lawatan kerja."
A pure Sabahan, wakil rakyat for Kota Marudu, previous portfolio was as a Minister in the Prime Minister's Department. He seems to be very nice person, willing to take picture with us (hehehehehe... thanks to Kak Rin, his ex-PA of course) and down-to-earth. During presentation, he sort-of-like given a "go ahead nod" for us to proceed with Phase 3 project. Can't wait for that project to start off. I really wanted to be in the testing side. Lets cross our fingers that the project will be approved and tendering process will begin this month.

I Love You - Syg, My Family, My Friends

After 21 years of marriage, my wife wanted me to take another woman out to dinner and a movie. She said I love you but I know this other woman loves you and would love to spend some time with you.

The other woman that my wife wanted me to visit was my MOTHER, who has been a widow for 19 years, but the demands of my work and my three children had made it possible to visit her only occasionally.

That night I called to invite her to go out for dinner and a movie.

'What's wrong, are you well,' she asked? My mother is the type of woman who suspects that a late night call or a surprise invitation is a sign of bad news.

'I thought that it would be pleasant to be with you,' I responded. 'Just the two of us.'

She thought about it for a moment, and then said, 'I would like that very much.'

That Friday after work, as I drove over to pick her up I was a bit nervous. When I arrived at her house, I noticed that she, too, seemed to be nervous about our date. She waited in the door with her coat on. She had curled her hair and was wearing the dress that she had worn to celebrate her last wedding anniversary.

She smiled from a face that was as radiant as an angel's.

'I told my friends that I was going to go out with my son, and they were impressed, 'she said, as she got into the car. 'They can't wait to hear about our meeting'. We went to a restaurant that, although not elegant, was very nice and cozy. My mother took my arm as if she were the First Lady. After we sat down, I had to read the menu. Large print. Half way through the entries, I lifted my eyes and saw Mom sitting there staring at me. A nostalgic smile was on her lips.

'It was I who used to have to read the menu when you were small,' she said.

'Then it's time that you relax and let me return the favor,' I responded.

During the dinner, we had an agreeable conversation – nothing extraordinary, but catching up on recent events of each other's life. We talked so much that we missed the movie.

As we arrived at her house later, she said, 'I'll go out with you again, but only if you let me invite you.' I agreed.

'How was your dinner date?' asked my wife when I got home. 'Very nice. Much more so than I could have imagined,' I answered.

A few days later, my mother died of a massive heart attack. It happened so suddenly that I didn't have time to do anything for her.

Sometime later, I received an envelope with a copy of a restaurant receipt from the same place mother and I had dined.

An attached note said: 'I paid this bill in advance. I wasn't sure that I could be there; but nevertheless, I paid for two plates - one for you and the other for your wife. You will never know what that night meant for me. I love you, son.'

At that moment, I understood the importance of saying in time: 'I LOVE YOU!' and to give our loved ones the time that they deserve. Nothing in life is more important than God and your family. Give them the time they deserve, because these things cannot be put off till 'some other time.'

Here's hoping today is better than yesterday...
